To Do Before the Tour
About the Tour
When we arrive in San Jose we will take a bus ride that will take us on the South West Cost near Quepos, Costa Rica. We’ll be staying in a beautiful home. This Cloud Forest Estate, off the beaten path, has over 5,500 square feet of living and 36 acres of paradise just 15 minutes from the beaches of Quepos, and 20 minutes from the world famous white sand beaches of Manuel Antonio National Park.
If you are looking for a birding destination…look no further, every morning, evening, and throughout the day you will see three varieties of Tucans, and other amazing birds endemic to the area. We have world class nature guides that can accommodate us throughout your stay. The fruit trees include banana, coconut, mango, cashew nut, guava and mamonchino. Out closest neighbors are Tucans, sloths, monkeys, iguanas, parrots, macaws and hundreds of other spectacular bird species. Our time spent here will be memorable in its own right.
This is truly the best of both worlds…a luxury three story villa surrounded by 36 acres of lush rain forest. The minute you hit the gate you are in the jungle. This place is truly unique, and as close to the jungle you can get without being in a tent. It makes the perfect BASE for our humanitarian efforts.
Projects and Activities
We will focus on a small underfunded school 40 min out of Quepos, Costa Rica. Our projects will include, remodeling, painting, cleaning and of course Teaching the children. Each volunteer will have the chance to stand in front of the children and teach a lesson that they have prepared. Lesson’s can be on ENGLISH, MATH, ART, and/or SCIENCE.
At a government-sponsored community event we will teach locals proper procedures for washing hands, and brushing teeth. This project creates an opportunity to interact with locals as we try to improve their health.
Touring & Recreation
It would be unfortunate to travel all the way to Costa Rica without a little recreation. Throughout the tour we will have time for some recreation. This area is known for its beautiful snorkeling, parasailing, hiking, and boating. We will also take a tour of Manuel Antonio National Park. This park is well known for it’s beautiful beaches, wild animals, and hiking trails. In 2011, Manuel Antonio was listed by Forbes among the world’s 12 most beautiful national parks.
